Does anybody know how to fix the red ring of death?

i just received the red ring of death the error message was E64 and apparently my error code is 1000 Kernel can't be launched/signature in NAND Flash chip is broken! My warranty is expired and I don't have the money for a new 360

Honestly I read up on it and thought it could never happen. When I got it once I still had my warrenty so I was okay. But once it rn out I knew I had to do something. So I bought a whisper max fan and opened up my xbox and installed it as a central fan. Though this violates your warrenty (which ran out) it is a very very very good fan which spins 8x faster than your regular one. I then used the towel trick to get my xbox running again and then with that fan it has not gotten it again for 2 years. The tailsmoon whispermax fan is 25 buck comes with LED's and is worth every penny!

Btw if you overheat it anymore you will brake it beyond microsofts capabilities lol if you try it your a moron.

The problem is that chip overheated, melted, then when it cooled down it cracked clean in half.

It happened to me and there is NO WAY to fix it believe me BUT.......

I had no warrany, i rang microsoft up and asked them about the rings, they told me what i said above and that i had to post it to them, so i did they give you a tracking number so you can see where it is at all times.

SO conclude.........ring microsoft get it fixed get back to lazing around......wicked xD

I would think to contact Microsoft themselves and ask them or only take answers from experts. And no, I myself am not a expert so you don't have to listen to me.

DO NOT OVER HEAT YOUR SYSTEM. that is the stupidest thing i have ever heard. send it to microsoft and they will fix it because it is a major defect. if you dont like that go buy a ps3, they are much more reliable and advanced. sorry pal. watch for it because even though it gets fixed it can happen again

There is the towel trick. I believe you wrap your 360 in a towel and leave it on for a certain amount of hours. It's supposed to overheat so much that it melts that certain piece that gets broken right back into place. I would recommend you do some research on it before you attempt it. Most of the time it only works for a week, then the console red rings again, this time with no hope except returning it. But to a friend of mine it fixed it completely. Good luck!
