Why do a lot of celebs wear cincinnati reds hats now?

Lil wayne, the game, chris brown, shane sparks, birdman, tyga.. they all have cincinnati hats. why? does it represent mid-west? Because new york is east side and LA is west and a-town is south, but whats with the cincy hats?
