Default Celebrities Red Nose Mountain Climb?

I heard that there was around 180 people climbing the mountain with the celebrities, after every stop they had there tents set up for them & there food cooked for them, they had doctors at there beck & call & if they felt weary they had a couple of people at there side to help them along, they all went on about how hard it was but they were virtually carried up the mountain.

Don't get me wrong it's great that they raised the money but I don't think they desevrve as much respect as the people that climb the mountain without all that support.

Anyone agree?
Jo Whiley on Radio 1 mentioned there were 180 people with them & the rest I saw on the documentry on the BBC.
Ok "Cornish" Good point! but in that case I don't respect anyone climbing that mountain, its a glorified guided tour with the possibility of altitude sickness!

I have known someone who has climbed Kilimanjaro, and that is how it works. Big parties are formed from all over the world and there are many guides to go with them. The guides set up the tents in the evenings and cook the meals, and there is always medical help at hand. On the last leg there is a shortage of oxygen so problems can occur. If people take ill through this they are led down the mountain by a couple of guides.
The comic relief team had the same care and attention that your or I Would have if we paid for a trip.

Just about anything you see on TV is fake. It might be based on fact, but it has been "enhanced".

The celebrity mountain climb raised an enormous amount of money for charity. To achieve it, they would have had to turn most of Mount Kilimanjaro into a TV studio with huge amounts of equipment, technicians and supplies.

It was a great achievement to get that group of celebrities up the mountain, but the prize has got to go to the team that carried Moyles up there.

I do indeed agree with you....
but I also heard that the team to help them up the mountain, actually do that for a living! That is their way of making money for their families keep. So, everyone who climbs the mountain has this team with them.

All year round they are assisting people up and down the mountain.

I agree

I tend to respect your intentions more, if your hard labor is truly a labor
